BDC Strategy Group was proud to join leaders, advocates, professionals and changemakers in Washington, D.C., for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 55th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), held September 16–20 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This year’s theme, “Rooted, Ready & Rising,” carried special significance as the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation commemorated its 50th anniversary. Throughout the week, ALC brought together thought leaders, legislators, advocates, influencers and engaged citizens for conversations focused on the political, economic and social advancement of Black communities.
For BDC Strategy Group, being part of ALC was both valuable and intentional. As a Black-owned strategic communications agency, we understand the importance of being present in spaces where conversations about our communities, businesses and institutions are taking place. Our team participated in sessions and networking events throughout the conference, while also connecting with clients who were in Washington for ALC. We were especially glad to reconnect with a former client and explore the possibility of working together again.
Those connections are a significant part of what makes ALC worthwhile. Beyond the programming, the conference creates space to strengthen existing relationships, develop new ones and stay connected to the people and ideas influencing the communities our clients serve. We returned from Washington energized by the conversations, connections and opportunities ahead. For BDC Strategy Group, ALC was another reminder that showing up matters, and we’re proud to continue doing just that.
