Summer may be a season for slowing down, but our wonderful team spent the last few months on the move, supporting clients, showing up for our industry and strengthening the partnerships
that help us do our best work. We like to believe that it was time well spent! To that end, here’s a look back at where we’ve been and what we’ve been up to.
Connecting with The Change Agencies in Milwaukee
Bernadette traveled to Milwaukee for The Change Agencies (TCA) annual meeting, hosted by
Tammy Belton-Davis, founder and president of Athena Communications. The Change Agencies
is a national network of independent, multicultural and LGBTQ-owned public relations and communications firms that came together in 2019 to offer strategic counsel and outreach for organizations looking to connect authentically with the communities they serve. BDC Strategy Group joined the network in 2024, and gatherings like this one are a chance to reconnect with fellow member-agency leaders and explore how we can collaborate on larger projects.
Supporting the Emanuel Nine Memorial Media Preview
Bernadette was on the ground in Charleston, S.C., supporting our client, the Mother Emanuel
Memorial Foundation, during a media preview of the Emanuel Nine Memorial. We’re grateful to have our colleague Shawn Smith of The Change Agencies collaborating with us on this meaningful project. As the national PR agency for the memorial, we’re honored to help lead media strategy as the site nears its opening later this year and can’t wait for the public to experience it.
Celebrating the National Medical Association’s New President
Our team supported the National Medical Association at its Annual Convention Scientific Assembly in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Congratulations to Dr. Brandi Kaye Freeman on her installation as the 127th President of the organization. It’s always a privilege to be in the room for such fantastic milestones such as this one.
Showing Up for Supplier Development
We also supported and attended The Exchange, an Amazon supplier development event in Seattle, along with the Billion Dollar Roundtable summit, which Bernadette participated in. Both gatherings brought together corporate and supplier leaders focused on strengthening supply chains and expanding opportunities for small business partners, work that lines up closely with the procurement communications support we provide our own clients.
Representing at NABJ in Atlanta
Bernadette and Jaylen attended the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention right here in Atlanta, including a Business Journalism Task Force reception hosted at the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s offices. It was a great opportunity to connect with journalists and communicators shaping the future of business news coverage.
Capturing New Content in Decatur
Closer to home, our team spent a day in Decatur for an in-person content capture session. New
photos are on the way, so stay tuned for a refreshed look at our team and our work. You won’t want to miss it!
It’s been a season full of connection, celebration and meaningful work alongside our clients and
partners. We’re looking forward to sharing more as the year continues.
